Sr. Dangerous Goods Compliance Specialist, Supply Chain

What to Expect
The Dangerous Goods (DG) Transportation Compliance Specialist provides technical expertise and guidance to assure the safe and compliant transportation of regulated materials for the company’s global supply chain. The DG Transportation Compliance Specialist focus on working with stakeholders to identify risks, develop and implement requirements, and communicate clearly with internal and external stakeholders and partners. The DG Transport Compliance Specialist is a direct report to the DG Transportation Compliance Manager within the company’s Supply Chain organization.
What You’ll Do
- Works with internal stakeholders to implement DG policies, Standard Operating Procedures, training materials, and controls to support a culture of compliance with applicable regulations
- Develop and lead complex projects to ensure Dangerous Goods transportation operate in compliance with all applicable legislations
- Conducts site audits on facilities to evaluate compliance with the Dangerous Goods Transportation Compliance Policy and applicable Dangerous Goods Transportation regulations. Prepares written reports identifying compliance risks and assists facilities in identifying corrective actions. Completes follow-up verifications to ensure that all actions have been completed appropriately
- Work with Logistics to provide regulatory guidance on packaging specifications, marking, labeling, and shipping documents to support day-to-day DG operation
- Create targeted training content based on compliance audit findings and delayed shipment records, including instructor-led training, both web-based and in-person, as needed
- Track training, rejected shipments, audit findings, and other data points to identify improvement and efficiency opportunities
What You’ll Bring
- Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry, Battery Safety Engineering, Supply Chain Management or equivalent practical experience
- Minimum 5+ years of experience in transportation compliance management of dangerous goods/ hazardous materials
- Working knowledge of national and international dangerous goods regulations (DOT, ICAO/IATA, IMDG), operations, and procedures
- Experience developing, implementing, and managing Dangerous Goods transportation compliance program
- Regulatory compliance experience, including experience in preparing written reports and communicating compliance risks to stakeholders
- Strong written and oral communications skills
- Discretion with confidential or sensitive information
- Capable of multitasking and working with changing priorities and deadlines
- Ability to collaborate and influence Global, Regional and Site contacts
- Ability to use software programs and database, such as Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, OneDrive, tableau to facilitate compliance management

Expected Compensation
$68,000 - $270,000/annual salary, depending on level + cash and stock awards + benefits
Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered. Job Title: Global Dangerous Goods Specialist 1

Onsite or Remote: Hybrid
The mission of the Global Dangerous Goods Specialist is to be the Group Subject Matter Expert and to execute the design and implementation of Global Dangerous Goods policies and procedures along with training in collaboration with the local teams across all Epiroc locations, minimizing the exposure and risk for the business and striving for continuous improvement.
The employee may be required to lift up to 25 pounds. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of the job. Personal Protection Equipment may be required in this role. The position is considered Safety Sensitive.
Responsibilities:
- Develop, communicate, and continuously improve Global Dangerous Goods (DG) policies, procedures, templates and best practices for the benefit of all Epiroc locations.
- Manage regulatory updates involving DG in cooperation with Epiroc’s Product Companies, Customer Centers, Hubs, Distribution Centers, Legal Teams and Logistic Service Providers as well as external regulatory agencies as applicable.
- Represent Epiroc’s interests before country and international regulatory authorities and industry associations, such as IATA and IMDG.
- Work across all organizational levels to continuously improve DG safety and compliance performance.
- Identify Global DG training requirements and develop training when necessary. Work with Epiroc University and the Divisions to roll-out training to appropriate roles within the Group. Provide guidance on local training requirements when needed.
- Be the Subject Matter Expert for Dangerous Goods. Provide Expert consultation in coordination with Epiroc’s Product Companies, Customer Centers, Hubs, and Distribution Centers as required to ensure DG regulations (49CFR, IATA, IMDG, etc.) are interpreted and applied correctly.
- Continuously improve DG Master Data quality and sustainability across all platforms and locations.
- Conduct audits working in cooperation with SHEQ and Group Internal Audit.
Requirements:
- Bachelor of Science in Chemical / Industrial Engineering, or an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered in lieu of a degree
- Current certification for all modes of DG transport
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (both verbal and written) towards all levels of Epiroc staff as well as external stakeholders
- Performance-driven, analytical thinker able to make and own decisions with a focus both on the details as well as the BIG picture
- Passion for all things DG related with a structured project mindset and the ability to react and take care of both internal and external customers’ needs
